Delimitation of the Outer Edge of the Continental Margin of Sri Lanka

- theUnited Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea required State Parties to submit geological and scientific data and other material to the Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf (CLCS) to establish the outer limits of the Continental Shelf beyond 200 nautical miles and Sri Lanka has already presented its submission to the CLCS. Sri Lanka is scheduled to make an oral presentation to the CLCS during the second half of 2012. The proposal made by Hon. (Prof.) G.L. Peiris, Minister of External Affairs to proceed with the matter, was approved by the Cabinet.
