Design and construction of new buildings to include facilities for persons whose walking is hampered due to disabilities

- The Government has observed the difficulties experienced by persons with disabilities in entering public and private sector institutions for their needs. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Maithripala Sirisena, Minister of Health to enlighten public and private sector institutions to include access and other facilities for such disabled persons when designing and constructing new buildings, in keeping with the regulations published in the Gazette Extraordinary dated 2006?10?17, was approved by the Cabinet.
