Approval for implementation of Project Facilitating Initiatives for Social cohesion and Transformation

- this project stems from the bilateral agreement between the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Government of Sri Lanka. This programme contributes to initiatives towards a socially integrated, harmonious and peaceful Sri Lanka that promotes equality and diversity. The project would help to build institutional capabilities of Community Based Organizations to take up local responsibilities. The proposal made by Hon. Wasudewa Nanayakkara, Minister of National Languages and Social Integration to implement all programmes pertaining to social cohesion and transformation in the five Districts of Ampara, Puttalam, Mullaitivu, Badulla and Galle at a total cost of Euro 3 million (Rs.474 million), was approved by the Cabinet.
