Rehabilitation of Electricity Supply - Jaffna Region Transmission Project Kilinochchi - Chunnakam Transmission Line - Lot C-B : Earth Wire replacement with OPGW

- after the conflict situation in the North, steps have been taken by the Ceylon Electricity Board to commence the Kilinochchi-Chunnakam Transmission Line. The project consists of -

* Construction of Chunnakam 132 KV Grid Substation - contract awarded (funded by ADB);
* Construction of Kilinochchi-Chunnakam Transmission Line - contract awarded (funded by ADB);
* Consultancy for Designing and Supervision - contract awarded (funded by KfW of Germany); and
* Upgrading 220 KV Protection Developm
The proposal made by Hon. Patali Chanpika Ranawaka, Minister of Power and Energy, to award the contract for Earth Wire Replacement with OPGW, which is part of the contract of Upgrading 220 KV Protection Development, on the recommendation of the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee, at a total cost of Euro 1,279,011.74 plus Sri Lanka Rs.26,335,080.00, was approved by the Cabinet
