Implementation of the National Human Rights Action Plan (NHRAP)

- this action plan for the protection and promotion of human rights was approved by the Cabinet at its meeting held on 07th September 2011. The Government considers it important to implement the above Action Plan to enable our successful engagement with several international human rights organizations, especially the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHCR). The proposal made by Hon. Mahinda Samarasinghe, Minister of Plantation Industries, to undertake initial work for Sri Lanka's participation in the second cycle of the Universal Periodic Review in October 2012, was approved by the Cabinet.
