Financial Assistance of Euro 22 million from the Government of France for Widening and Reconstruction of Bridges on National Road Network

- the Government of France has agreed to provide Euro 22 million for the reconstruction of 46 bridges on the National Road Network. These bridges have been selected from Western, Southern, Uva, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North Western Provinces on priority basis. The bridges located close to towns will be given high priority to eliminate traffic congestion. The project will be implemented by the Road Development Authority under the supervision of the Ministry of Ports and Highways. The proposal made by H.E. the President to enter into a Loan Agreement for the purpose, was approved by the Cabinet.
