Rehabilitation of National Highways with concrete surfacing through domestic contractors - Rehabilitation and Improvement of the Polonnaruwa - Tambala - Sungawila - Somawathiya Road (33.0 km)

- Cabinet has granted approval for the rehabilitation of 662.04 Km. of roads through domestic contractors by obtaining the required funds amounting to around US $ 500 million from local Banks. The above road having a length of 33.0 Km. is one of the roads approved for rehabilitation under this programme. The proposal made by H.E. the President, in his capacity as the Minister of Ports and Highways, to award the above contract on the recommendation of the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee and the Technical Evaluation Committee, for a sum of Rs. 2,750, 000,000.00, was approved by the Cabinet.
