Press briefing of Cabinet Decision taken on 2011-11-30

Road sector assistance project funded by the International Development Association - Selection of a consultant for the consultancy services for design review, construction supervision and contract administration for the rehabilitation and improvement of the road section from Ambepussa to Dambulla (90.5 km) on the Ambepussa - Kurunegala - Trincomalee Road (A6 Road)

- the Government of Sri Lanka has received a loan of US $100 million from the International Development Association (IDA) and a part of the proceeds of this loan is to be utilized for the rehabilitation and improvement of the section of the above road. Accordingly, the proposal made by H.E. the President, in his capacity as the Minister of Ports and Highways to award the contract for Consultancy Services of the above project for a sum of US $723,000 and LKR 178,009,500/-, was approved by the Cabinet.
