Construction of a Building for the Rubber Research Institute of Sri Lanka, Agalawatta

- Rubber growers and related personnel in the rubber industries as well as students of Universities, Technical Institutions and schools visit this institute located at Agalawatte regularly to acquire research and technical know-how pertaining to rubber cultivation and manufacturing of rubber finished products. Due to inadequate accommodation facilities available at the present building of this institute, the proposal made by Hon. Mahinda Samarasinghe, Minister of Plantation Industries, to construct a new building at Agalawatta at a total cost of Rs.34 million with funds to be provided in 2011 and 2012, was approved by the Cabinet.
