Construction of a new Bridge Replacing the Existing Bridge No.6/2 near Polduwa Junction on Kollupitiya - Sri Jayawardenepura Road
- on a proposal made by H.E. the President, in his capacity as the Minister of Ports and Highways, to invite Bids and to appoint a Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (CAPC) and a Technical Evaluation Committee (TEC) for the construction of a new bridge replacing the existing bridge, to provide adequate vertical clearance under the bridge for navigation purposes, which would help promote tourism etc., was approved by the Cabinet. The estimated cost of the proposed bridge is about Rs.800 million and the project is to be implemented over a period of two years, with funds to be provided under the Medium Term Budgetary Framework 2013-2015.
