Proposal to provide water supply facilities to the people of Wavinna and Panwila areas in the Kandy District

- the proposal is to supply water supply facilities to these areas by augmenting Kundasale Integrated Water Supply Scheme. This will cover 07 Grama Niladhari Divisions. The length of the distribution network is around 14 Km. which covers Madolkelle, Pitiyegedara, Narampanawa, West Hatale, Kosgama and Wavinna areas. The proposed water supply scheme will provide safe drinking water to more than 20,000 people living in these areas. The proposal made by Hon. Dinesh Gunawardena, Minister of Water Supply and Drainage, to implement the above project with an allocation of Rs.150 million to be provided in 2011 and 2012 and to increase the total cost estimate of the Kundasale Integrated Water Supply Scheme from Rs.1250 million to Rs.1400 million, was approved by the Cabinet.
