- Cabinet noted the progress of the programme of purchasing paddy in the Yala Season 2011, presented by Hon. Johnston Fernando, Minister of Co-operatives and Internal Trade, giving the following details totaling to 74,869 MT. as at 2011-10-06:

* Polonnaruwa Zone - 29,418 MT
* Wayamba Zone - 5698 MT
* Ampara Zone - 17,893 MT
* Anuradhapura Zone - 9476 MT
* Southern Zone - 5550 MT
* Northern Zone - 856 MT
* Eastern Zone . - 5978 MT
