Press briefing of Cabinet Decision taken on 2011-09-21

Provision of grant assistance of US $10 million to the Government of Maldives for the construction of a 4.8 km long asphalt concrete road in view of the forthcoming South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (SAARC) Summit to be held in Maldives in November 2011

- in recognition of the strong and cordial relationship between Sri Lanka and Maldives, the proposal made by H.E. the President, to extend grant assistance not exceeding US $10 million to the Government of the Republic of Maldives towards the construction of the above road as a gesture of goodwill, was approved by the Cabinet.
