Allocation of land at Balangoda to the Regional Development Bank and to the Hatton National Bank

- blocks of land within the Administrative limits of Balangoda Urban Council are being leased out by the Urban Development Authority for the development of financial institutions. Accordingly, two block of land have already been leased out to the Bank of Ceylon and Commercial Bank and another blocks of land is proposed to be leased out to the National Savings Bank. The proposal made by H.E. the President, in his capacity as the Minister of Defence, to lease out a further two blocks of land to the Regional Development Bank and the Hatton National Bank, with the view to provide better banking facilities to the people living in and around Balangoda, for a period of 30 years, was approved by the Cabinet.
