Construction of 500 Housing Units at Dematagoda under Relocation of Underserved Settlement Project (Resettlement Programme - Phase II) Award of the Contract for Super Structure Work

- construction of 320 Housing Units under Phase I of 1000 Housing Units Programme at Dematagoda was completed and these Housing Units have been allocated to the occupants of underserved settlements in Slave Island area. Under Phase II of the Programme, it is proposed to construct 500 Housing Units in two, ten storied buildings at Dematagoda. Piling work in 1 block is fully completed and 60% of work in the other block has also been completed. The proposal made by H.E. the President, on the recommendation of the Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee, to award the contract for the superstructure works of Phase II for a sum of Rs.952.62 million, was approved by the Cabinet.
