Establishment of a District Aquaculture Extension Office for Kilinochchi District

- Inland Fisheries and Aquaculture has been identified as a source of livelihood for the people in the Northern Province. These programmes are implemented in the North under the National Aquaculture Development Authority. At present about 4000 people are engaged in Inland Fisheries in the Northern Province. The proposal made by Hon. Rajitha Senaratne, Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development to establish a District Aquaculture Extension Office in the Kilinochchi District, at Kilinochchi, was approved by the Cabinet.
