Revision of total Cost Estimate of Kelani Right Bank Water Treatment Plant Project

- the proposed project will improve the water supply to Colombo city and towns out of Colombo. This project will develop the Water Treatment Plant in the Gampaha District and will serve a population of 350,000 with existing connections presently experiencing inadequate water supply and an additional population of 100,000 will be connected to the system. The project is financed under the Danida Mixed Credit Programme. The proposal made by Hon. Dinesh Gunawardena, Minister of Water Supply and Drainage, to increase the foreign component of the project to Rs.8390 million and the local component to Rs.1760 million, was approved by the Cabinet. Funds for the purpose will be provided under the Medium Term Budgetary Framework 2012-2014.
