33rd Annual Forum of the Parliamentarians for Global Action (PGA) Colombo, Sri Lanka 28 - 30 October 2011
- Parliamentarians for Global Action (PGA) is the World's only International Organization of democratically elected national legislators. Its network includes 1350 Parliamentarians from 105 countries drawn from both Government and Opposition Parties. Its concerns include a wide range of international issues such as, peacemaking and peacekeeping, sustainable development and population, human rights and the rule of law, strengthening democratic institutions and women's empowerment. The joint proposal made by Hon. Nimal Siripala de Silva, Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Management and Leader of the House of Parliament; and Hon. (Prof.) G.L. Peiris, Minister of External Affairs, to get the cooperation of all concerned to hold the 33rd Annual Session in Sri Lanka from 28th to 30th October 2011, was approved by the Cabinet.
