Supply of Locally Produced Whole Milk Powder for the Thriposha Programme

- Thriposha is a nutritious food distributed free of charge to the malnourished children, pregnanat mothers and breast feeding mothers under a national programme. Whole Milk Powder is a main raw material use for Thriposha production. The proposal made by Hon. Maithripala Sirisena, Minister of Health to purchase 187 MT. of Whole Milk Powder from 06.08.2011 up to 31.12.2011 at a cost of Rs.100.79 million was approved by the Cabinet. Purchase of the quantity of Milk Powder required for this programme for 2012 is to be made through competitive bidding from domestic milk food manufacturers, following tender procedure.
