Organization of a side event concurrently with the Meeting of United Nations General Assembly - 2011 - New York City, U.S.A.

- the proposal made by Hon. Dallas Alahapperuma, Minister of Youth Affairs and Skills Development, to organize a side event under the Theme "Young People in Development Agenda" concurrently with the 65th Meeting of the United Nations General Assembly scheduled to be held on 22.09.2011, was approved by the Cabinet. The objectives of this event will be -

* to gain an opportunity to present the concept of the World Youth Conference (2014) which is to be hosted by Sri Lanka, to the global community;
* to create an awareness among various nations on the youth activities of Sri Lnaka; and
* to create opportunities to share experience and knowledge on global youth activities.
