Construction of New Buildings for the Divisional Secretariats

- the proposal made by Hon. W.D.J. Seneviratne, Minister of Public Administration and Home Affairs for the construction of new buildings for the following Divisional Secretariats was approved by the Cabinet. Initial expenses of these buildings are to be borne with funds provided in 2011 and the balance to be provided by the General Treasury from 2012 onwards:

* Nuwaragam Palatha East Divisional Secretariat
* Nochchiyagama Divisional Secretariat
* Rajanganaya Divisional Secretariat
* Lahugala Divisional Secretariat
* Padiyathalawa Divisional Secretariat
* Ninthavur Divisional Secretariat
* Horana Divisional Secretariat

A model type plan for the construction of buildings for Divisional Secretariats is to be prepared by the Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs, with the assistance of the University of Moratuwa, focusing on energy saving, materials to be used for construction etc., which could be used for future constructions.
