Construction of Gonagalathenna Tank

- the proposed Tank is located at Dunuwila village of Medadumbara Divisional Secretary's Division in the Kandy District. The proposal made by Hon. Nimal Siripala de Silva, Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Management, to construct a Dam across the Gonagalathenna stream to form a tank with a capacity of 131 Ac. ft to provide water for irrigation and domestic purposes to the people in the villages of Pitigoda and Wendaruwa, was approved by the Cabinet. It is expected to provide irrigation facilities to 325 acres of paddy land in the Maha season and 37 acres of paddy and 85 acres of other field crops in the Yala season.
