Selection of a Developer for Development & Operation of Additional Water and Waste Water Treatment Plants at Seethawaka Export Processing Zone, Avissawella

- there are nearly 31 enterprises in commercial operation in this zone and nearly 20,000 employment opportunities have been created in the area. Several enterprises in this zone are involved in textile and rubber product manufacturing which require high water consumption. The proposal made by Hon. Basil Rajapaksa, Minister of Economic Development to entrust the above project to a qualified bidder as recommended by the Cabinet Appointed Negotiating Committee and the Project Committee, was approved by the Cabinet.
