Inauguration of the new State of Southern Sudan

- Hon. (Prof.) Tissa Vitarana, Senior Minister of Scientific Affairs representing H.E. the President and the Government of Sri Lanka, along with the Sri Lankan High Commissioner for Kenya attended the inauguration ceremony of the new State of Southern Sudan on 09th of July 2011. Southern Sudan has tremendous economic potential by virtue of its oil and gas resources. Action is to be taken by the government to establish a firm basis for future political, economic and social interactions with the new Government of Southern Sudan.
