Appointment of the Procurement Appeal Board

- On a proposal made by H.E. the President, Cabinet approval was granted for the extension of the term of office of the presently functioning Procurement Appeal Board (PAB) comprising of the following for a period of three years with effect from 16.08.2011:

* Hon. Justice K. Vignarajah, former Justice of the Court of Appeal - (Chairman);
* Mr. P.A. Pemathilaka, former Auditor General - (Member)
* Mr. T.P.G.N. Leelaratne, retired Secretary to a Ministry - (Member);

It is mandatory for all Government Institutions to inform the decisions of the Procurement Committee (PC) to all unsuccessful bidders within seven days from the decision of the Committee, so that any unsuccessful bidders can make their appeals to the PAB. Ministries should await the decision of the PAB prior to awarding of any tenders for the successful bidders.
