Strengthening Patient Transport Services of Hospitals of Sri Lanka by providing Ambulances with standard equipment

- There are more than 1000 Healthcare Institutions in the country and transferring of patients from one hospital to another for advanced treatment is being handled by about 600 Ambulances. The proposal made by Hon. Maithripala Sirisena, Minister of Health for the purchase of 152 Ambulances to improve patient transport services through competitive bidding, was approved by the Cabinet.
