Formulation of a National Human Resources and Employment Policy, Strategy and an Action Plan

- the objectives of this programme are as follows:

* to provide an integrated policy framework towards promoting employment.
* to enable all men and women to attain full productive and freely chosen employment and work.
* to promote productivity among our people to improve competitiveness and enhance employability.
* to provide fullest possible opportunities to a worker to qualify for and to use his/her skills in a job for which he/she is well suited.

The above proposal made by Hon. D.E.W. Gunasekara, Minister (Senior) for Human Resources, was approved by the Cabinet.
