Greater Hambantota Development Project

- with the development of the International Sea Port and the International Air Port in the Hambantota District, the area identified for Central Business Activity and Industrial Activity is also to be developed. On a proposal made by H.E. the President, Cabinet approval was granted to acquire the lands required by the UDA for implementation of the above project. Some of the items of work identified to be implemented under this project are -

* High Income Housing
* Middle Income Housing
* Hospital, Police Station, Post Office, City Hotels
* Bus Stand, Market, Theatre, Banking Square
* Schools, Beach Parks etc.
