Construction of a Building for the Advanced Technological Institute (ATI) at Batticaloa
? this Institute offers Diploma Courses in Commerce and English to the students living in and around Batticaloa. The proposal made by Hon. S.B. Dissanayake, Minister of Higher Education, to construct a two storied building for this institute, costing Rs.70.5 million and consisting of Lecture Halls, Class Room Blocks, a Computer Laboratory and Administration Block, an Audio Visual Room, a Conference Room, a Library Block and Cafeteria to provide better facilities to the students, was approved by the Cabinet. Construction work is to commence in 2011 with funds already available with the Ministry of Higher Education and completed with funds to be provided under the Medium Term Expenditure Framework.
