Press briefing of Cabinet Decision taken on 2011-05-25

The 23rd Session of the Governing Council of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme, (UN-HABITAT); 11th - 15th April 2011

- Sri Lanka is a member of this Governing Council which needs every two years to examine UN-HABITAT'S, Work and Relationship with its partners. The Council is comprised of 58 Member States. A high level delegation headed by Hon. Wimal Weerawansa, Minister of Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities represented Sri Lanka at this Session. Sri Lanka received the Chair of the Asian Group for the next two years.
