Agro Livestock Development Loan Scheme - Extension of Project Period

- this Loan Scheme provides loan facilities on a low interest rates to small scale farmers engage in dairy and Agro products for the purpose of processing of liquid milk, purchase of equipment for the development of agriculture and dairy farming activities, construction of cattle shed, animal husbandry floriculture etc. and to the private sector investors to purchase liquid milk directly from the farmers. This loan facility has been extended from 2009 for the establishment of cooling facilities, block ice manufacturing plants and also for poultry farming from 2010. The proposal made by H.E the President to extend the validity period of this loan scheme up to 30th June 2012, was approved by the Cabinet.
