Arrangement between the Government of the Republic of India and the Government of The Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka for the Rehabilitation of Kankasanthurai

- development of Kankasanthurai Harbour is considered as one of the important projects when considering the economic and social development of Northern Peninsula. It is also important in the context of the security of the country. The proposed agreement to develop the harbour will lead to strengthen the existing bi-lateral relations between the Governments of India and Sri Lanka. On a proposal made by H.E. the President, as the Minister of Ports and Highways, Cabinet approval was granted to enter into the above agreement with Indian Government.
