Provision of Passports to the Sri Lankans who return to the country due to the Libyan Civil War

- an expeditious programme is being implemented by the Government, on a proposal made by H.E. the President as the Minister of Defence, to bring back the Sri Lankans working in Libya, due to the prevailing War situation in that country. Since it has been observed that many of the Sri Lankans returning have lost their passports due to unavoidable circumstances in that country, on a proposal made by H.E. the President, Cabinet approval was granted for the Department of Immigration and Emigration to issue new passports to them, without charging the fine of Rs.10,000/-, on the recommendation of the Foreign Employment Bureau.
