Construction of 132kV Transmission Line from Vavuniya to Chunnakam - Award of Tender for Lot B - Construction of Killinochchi - Chunnakam 132kV Transmission Line

- with the liberation of LTTE controlled areas in the Northern Province, the Government has given priority for the reconstruction of electricity facilities to commence resettlement and commercial activities in the North. Accordingly, on a proposal made by Hon. Patali Champika Ranawaka, Minister of Power and Energy, based on the recommendation of the Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee, Cabinet approval was granted to award the tender for the construction of Vavuniya - Chunnakam Transmission Line Project for a total cost of US $6,219,027.54 and Sri Lankan Rs.330,599,113.30.
