Development of Human Resources requirements for the promotion of the 'Thousand Secondary Schools for a Primary School Network' Program

- the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank have agreed to provide necessary funds for the implementation of the Project. Funds will be provided to the Ministry of Education by June 2011 and it is expected to develop 1000 selected schools in the country. Each of the proposed schools will be equipped with a language lab, science and technology laboratory, a computer laboratory with a minimum of 50 computers and internet facilities, a mathematics laboratory and a library with modern facilities. Under this programme at least three schools are to be developed in each Divisional Secretary's Division. This proposal made by Hon. Bandula Gunawardena, Minister of Education, was approved by the Cabinet.
