Press briefing of Cabinet Decision taken on 2011-03-30
South Asia Conference on Sanitation (SACOSAN IV) 4th - 8th April 2011
- this is a regional collaboration of eight South Asian countries comprising India, Sri Lanka, Bangaladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives, Afganistan and Pakintan, formed with the objective of addressing the sanitation facilities in the region. This is held every two years on a rotation basis in a selected member country and this time it will be held on Sri Lanka and the five day event will be inaugurated by His Excellency the President. The proposal made by Hon. Dinesh Gunawardena, Minister of Water Supply and Drainage, Cabinet approval was granted to proceed with the programme.
