A Grant of Japanese Yen 360 million from the Government of Japan for the Food Security Project for Low Income Farmers

- The Government of Japan has agreed to provide a grant of Japanese Yen 360 million (approximately Rs.468 million) to purchase agricultural machinery and equipment for the use of low income farmers in the country to assist in the food production programmes. 820 units of Two Wheel Tractors and 50 units of Four Wheel Tractors will be provided under this grant. On a proposal made by the H.E. the President Cabinet approval was granted to enter into a Grant Agreement for same and to sign the Exchange of Notes with the Government of Japan.
