Additional financial assistance from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for implementation of the Secondary Towns and Rural Community-based Water Supply and Sanitation Project
? Asian Development Bank (ADB) has agreed to provide an additional loan of US$ 17.6 million (approximately Rs.1.98 billion) for implementation of the Muttur Water Supply Scheme under the on-going Secondary Town and Rural Community Based Water Supply Sanitation Project. The proposed additional financing will ensure successful completion of the head works of the project and above 50,000 people in the project area will be benefited. The Government of Sri Lanka will contribute a sum equivalent to US$ 2.0 million (approximately Rs.218 million) for this project. The proposal made by H.E. the President to enter into Loan Agreements with the ADB was approved by the Cabinet.
