Purchase of Plastic Containers for the Transport of Vegetables and Fruits

- Cabinet approval was granted to popularize plastic crates for Transportation of vegetables and fruits with a view to minimizing post harvest waste caused by the use of gunny bags. Action will be taken by the Government to create an awareness on the use of plastic crates / containers for the purpose among vegetable /fruit growers, farmer communities and others engaged in the trade.
