Waste Water Disposal System for Ja-ela/Ekala and Ratmalana/Moratuwa Stage I - Phase II
- this project for which Cabinet approval has already been granted, is being implemented with financial assistance provided by the Government of Sweden (SIDA) supplemented with funds from the Government of Sri Lanka. The works contract for the implementation of the project has been awarded to a Sweden Joint Venture at a total cost of US $90.65 million and Sri Lanka Rupees 181.02 million. The consultancy services of the project has been awarded to M/s. SWECO International AB of Sweden at a total cost of SEK 26.57 million. On a proposal made by the Minister of Water Supply and Drainage Hon. Dinesh Gunawardena, Cabinet approval was granted to increase the total estimated cost from Rs.12.8 billion to Rs.16.15 billion and also to seek additional grant funds to meet the cost. Government contribution is expected to increase from Rs.2.4 billion to Rs.5.1 billion. The project will be completed in 2013.
