Damages to the Water Supply Schemes by Recent floods which occurred in the North Central/Northern and Eastern Provinces and Remedial Measures

- Water Supply Schemes and Systems in the Districts of Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Ampara, Trincomalee, Batticaloa and Vavuniya were badly affected due to the recent floods. Cabinet observed that arrangements have been made by Hon. Dinesh Gunawardena, Minister of Water Supply and Drainage, to provide drinking water to the people of the affected area through bowsers, where necessary and also to disinfect the well using bleaching powder with the assistance of health authorities.
