Indo-Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement (ISFTA) and Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA)

- the representatives of the two Governments which met in November 2010 in Colombo noted the significant progress made under the ISFTA and reaffirmed the understanding that it would be timely to build on this achievement through a more comprehensive framework of economic cooperation. Accordingly, on a proposal made by Hon. Rishad Bathiudeen, Minister of Industry and Commerce, Cabinet approval was granted to appoint an Inter-Agency Committee to prepare a new draft framework for the purpose between India and Sri Lanka. Views of the professionals and other stakeholders will also be entertained by this Committee.
