Methodology of Implementation and Supervision of Procurement and Payment for Liquid Milk to Dairy Farmers According to the Approved Purchase Price of Milk

- on a proposal made by Hon. Arumugan Thondaman, Minister of Livestock and Rural Community Development, Cabinet approval has already been granted to pay Rs.50/- per litre of liquid milk purchased from farmers. This is an increase of Rs.16.80 per litre of milk in comparison with the price which prevailed in June 2010. Awareness programmes will be conducted to educate the dairy farmers on the new rates of purchase of milk and the payment scheme will be monitored by a team of Officials in the respective areas to ensure the receipt of the correct payment by farmers.
