Kilinochchi - Chunnakam Transmission Line, Lot A - Construction of Chunnakam 132/33kV Grid Substation

- with the liberation of the LTTE controlled areas in the Northern Province, the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) envisages commencing developments / construction activities in these areas. Accordingly, steps have been taken to commence construction work of the Kilinochchi - Chunnakam Transmission Line. On a proposal made by the Minister of Power and Energy, Hon. Patali Champika Ranawaka, on the recommendation of the Cabinet appointed Procurement Committee, Cabinet approval was granted to award the contract to the lowest evaluated bidder, M/s. Siemens Limited of India, for a total bid price of US $3.74 million plus Sri Lankan Rupees 154.52 million.
