Press briefing of Cabinet Decision taken on 2011-02-02

Building Extension to the Postgraduate Institute of Science (PGIS) University of Peradeniya (Revision of Total Cost Estimate)

- Cabinet has already been granted to construct a three storied building extension to this institute at a total cost of Rs.37 million, out of which Rs.5 million is to be borne by this institute from its revenue. The construction of this building was handled by the Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau (CECB) which is a Government concern. However, certain extra work has been done by the CECB and on a proposal made by the Minister of Higher Education, Hon. S.B. Dissanayake, to pay the CECB for the extra work done, Cabinet approval was granted to pay the increased cost of Rs.3.65 million to the CECB.
