Deyata Kirula Exhibition 2011 - Supply of Water

- parallel to the Deyata Kirula Exhibition, action is being taken by the Department of National Water Supply and Drainage, on a proposal by the Minister of Water Supply and Drainage, Hon. Dinesh Gunawardena, to upgrade the Buttala Water Supply Scheme and work in connection with same is in progress. A number of roads in the Moneragala District are being widened and resurfaced and since the existing pipe network falls under the carriageway, Cabinet approval was granted to relocate the pipe lines away from the carriageway. The total cost of the project is Rs.175 million.
