Development of Hambantota and Nuwara Eliya District General Hospitals under the Netherlands Assistance

- the Government of the Netherlands has pledged the Government of Sri Lanka concessionary financial assistance through the Rabobank International of the Netherlands for the construction of two new hospitals at identified locations in Hambantota and Nuwara Eliya, including the supply of necessary medical and other equipment, installation, training etc. The proposal made by the Minister of Health, Hon. Maithripala Sirisena, on the recommendation of the Cabinet Appointed Negotiating Committee (CANC) and the Project Committee (PC), to award the contract to a construction company in Netherlands for a total cost of Euro 86.49 million and to enter into a loan agreement with the Government of the Netherlands to execute the project, was approved by the Cabinet.
