Bid for Hosting the Proposed Commonwealth Games 2018 to be held at Hambantota

- the Government intends to act as the host country to hold the Commonwealth Games - 2018 and it proposes to select Hambantota as the venue. On a proposal made by the Minister of Sports, Hon. Mahindananda Aluthgamage, Cabinet approval was granted to proceed with the initial measures taken on this matter.
