Water Supply Development Project

- II (JICA Loan No.SL-P 93) Kalu Ganga Water Supply Project [Phase I Stage II] Tender for Laying of PVC Pipes, Fittings, Specials and DI Valves and Accessories for the Distribution Systems in Kesbewa East / West, Jamburaliya and Piliyandala - Miriswatte Areas - this project has already been approved by the Cabinet for implementation. Stage II of this project will meet the demand for pipe borne water for the people in the areas of Kesbewa, Borelesgamuwa, Gonapola, Kahapola, Polgasowita, Ingiriya, Handapangoda, Diyagama, Piliyandala, Panadura East and Magammana. This will serve a population of about 49,000 in these areas by 2012. The project is being funded by the Japanese Government through Japan International Cooporation Agency (JICA). On a proposal made by the Minister of Water Supply and Drainage Hon. Dinesh Gunawardena, Cabinet approval was granted to award the tender for the laying of PVC Pipes, Fittings, Specials to M/s. Isuru-PND Joint Venture, as recommended by the Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee consisting of 3 Secretaries of Ministries.
