Priority Roads Project funded by the China Development Bank Company Ltd

Award of Contracts to China National Aero Technology International Engineering Corporation (CATIC-ENG) - the Government of Sri Lanka and the China Development Bank Company Ltd. (CDB) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a framework for corporation to provide financing for infrastructure development projects, mainly for economic development. The CDB has agreed to provide US $500 million to finance road projects and Cabinet approval was granted to award 5 contracts for the development of the following roads, utilizing US $ 152 million which will be made available immediately:
* Beliatta - Tangalle Road ) 15.97 km
* Bopale Junction - Kiri Ibbana - Udamauara Road )
* Construction of a Flyover at Siribopura Junction
* Pelawatta - Kankotoya Watta - Thiniyawala - Morawaka Road - 47 km
* Horawala - Pelawatta - Pitigala Road - 17.50 km
* Thiruwanaketiya - Agalawatta Road - 33.45 km
* Badulla - Karametiya - Andaulpotha Road - 47.98 km
* Kandy - Mahiyangana - Padiyatalawa Road - 29.13 km
* Kalkudah Road ) 10.05 km
* Kalkudah - Valachchenai Road )
